The Living Machine must adapt to our contemporary characteristics, and more important it should help us to prevent some problems of the future.
It must help us to live, support the users to survive. Within the next decades, the earth will face different changes that we haven’t lived before. The homes will engage in various meteorological phenomena which we must take advantage of.

As Le Corbusier said in 1923, Houses must be machines for living.

A machine is made by several parts with various functions, but when they come together perform a particular task.

Sunlight energy will be transform into electrical energy. Taking advantage of the entire footprint. The rooftop will stretch to fit perfectly 6 solar panels. Those will allow to provide the family the use of any electronic device without any restrictions everyday of the year.

The house will be facing South, therefore it would benefit from the warm in the winter and ventilate the house in a natural way.

Water Filtration System

If it rains, we must use the water, if there is sunlight, we must take benefit of it. Because energy is not created or destroyed, it’s only transformed.

In order to do this, La Petite Machine will gather all the water that concact the roof, then conduct it to a special water built in situ.

This is where the filtration happens.  The system emulates the natural process of cleaning water. The rainwater will pass through different types of stones, from gravel to sand, obtaining enough water for each user daily.

This machine of living will produce 800 litters of clean water, close to the average number consumed by Canadians daily.
